Santeria Church of Olodumare · Proposed church

A future historic sanctuary

The long-term vision is to bring a historic church into continuing religious use as a Santería sanctuary. The search will prioritize a former Catholic or Protestant church from the nineteenth century, while considering the needs of the congregation and the feasibility of preservation.

Before a purchase

The project will evaluate condition, permitted use, title and deed restrictions, accessibility requirements, insurance, utilities, restoration costs, and ongoing maintenance. A building's asking price is only one part of its long-term cost.

Restoration in stages

The proposed sequence begins with professional assessment and urgent stabilization, followed by the work required for lawful and safe occupancy. Devotional preparation and continuing conservation will follow an approved plan.

The intended sanctuary includes altars, statues, ceremonies, education, and space for community gatherings. Religious needs will be coordinated with preservation and building requirements.

Documented decisions

Property-specific campaigns will describe what is known, estimated, contingent, and still unfunded. Public progress reports will connect the approved scope to contracts, purchases, payments, and completed work.

Current property status

No permanent building has been selected or purchased for this project. Actual property details and budgets will be published when available. No purchase or opening date is promised.
