Describe the belief without assigning a gift
Mediumship is understood in Spiritist settings as a capacity for communication or relationship with spirits. Descriptions differ between currents and teachers. A public explanation can describe those claims without deciding whether any reader is a medium or whether a particular experience has a supernatural origin.
Learning is more than an intense experience
An intense dream or bodily impression is not a qualification to lead others. Ask how a community teaches observation, humility, confidentiality and the handling of mistakes. A responsible teacher should be able to explain what happens when a message is uncertain or disputed.
Practice should not require sleep deprivation, abandoning medical care or surrendering control of your finances and relationships. You can decline an exercise and still be treated respectfully. Curiosity does not create an obligation to pursue mediumship.
Consent applies to messages too
Ask before offering a personal spiritual interpretation to someone. Do not publicly announce claims about another person's deceased relatives, illness or private life without permission. A claimed message does not authorize touching, recording or exposing anyone.
This page does not provide a method to induce trance or a sequence for leading a gathering. Those questions belong in an accountable teaching relationship, with the practice's particular boundaries made explicit.
From Spiritual Evolution — Interpretation carries responsibility · p.203
The manuscript’s discernment discussion rejects messages that demand harm, deception or manipulative secrecy. That ethical concern is relevant when someone offers an interpretation of another person’s experience. It supports questions about consent and accountability; it is not a method for this website to certify mediumship.
